sean75 Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 does anybody who flys roundabout put their cocks in a diffrent section from their nest boxes and the hens are in diffrent compartment so in the middle of them is their nest boxes and put cocks in on night of basketing same as u do with hens would it motavate a cock just a thought thx scott
OLDYELLOW Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 cocks need to own / defend there box so i think it be unwise to remove cocks from there section imo
carlsberg Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 my cocks this season will be raced from the hen section and my hens will have the nest boxes due to only having 12 boxes and 17 cocks
kev43 Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 cocks need to own / defend there box so i think it be unwise to remove cocks from there section imo totally agree wi mark,,,cock needs to b bonded to his box and by removing him to another section would spoil him as a widower
chaz Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Try and get the video "Dual Widowhood" by Rick Mardis , it is a system he races and does very well with flying in the US, I flew the system in early season and then re-paired for the channel and the birds flew very well over the water both cocks and hens but especially the cocks including 1st club saintes only bird on day , 6th fed only 7 on the day .
sean75 Posted March 30, 2010 Author Report Posted March 30, 2010 i know people do it in middle of season so they can lock their hens up the cocks have already bonded they have had eggs reared y/b before racing starts
Guest rodders Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 my cocks this season will be raced from the hen section and my hens will have the nest boxes due to only having 12 boxes and 17 cocks you will have to watch hens dont pair unless you have a secret plan
carlsberg Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 you will have to watch hens dont pair unless you have a secret plan if they do i will lock them up in their boxes till its time to go out
blackdog Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 if they do i will lock them up in their boxes till its time to go out only way mate
wilkins Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 i find hens fly very well on the roundabout more so than the cocks maybe its because they are kept away from the box's
Guest southern and mason Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 cocks need to own / defend there box so i think it be unwise to remove cocks from there section imo my uncle has cocks in a section on the left boxes empty in the middle and hens in the other side and is 1 ov the top flyers in his fed in the mighty up north combine wen he lets the cocks in 2 the boxes on a fri morn the go wild coz they havnt cin ther box all week so ther up and down fightin other cocks out ther box
