be a few weeks before you start training

they have to start ranging first (dissapearing for about an hour or so)

flying in a tight kit

true chris thats why i said they had to be ranging for about an hour or so first

probably 6/8 weeks time .even take to bottom of road in basket and let them sit for

1/2 hour before release. it all helps.must basket train first

I see i have only let them out twice and they stay close to the house, they only fly in a pair or single

You got to give 'em more time yet. I have late breds in the nest. These won't be trained till next years youngsters are ready, then they will go with the young birds, and be used for old hens National.

These birds are not yet on the wing.  :)  Got to give them a chance to learn to fly and to get a fix on their home. Use that time to get some control over them, teach them to come in when called etc. Basket training can wait, as can training.
