bluebar99 Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 hello lads...just wanted to see what was your opinions on treating for respiratory during yb racing.. what do you use? How often? I myself use Doxy-T Sunday and Monday...we race saturday. I treat every other week. Best stuff I have used so far!
Wiley Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 to be honest the best respiratory treatment you can get is linco spectin
Guest cloudview Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 if youve got to treat regularly for respirity , there,s somthing wrong with your ventilation , failing that the birds are nt very strong immune wise
bewted Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 best thing for respiritory is lots and lots and lots of fresh air, but,if you keep treating for that then you got big trouble as when you breed from them it will pass it down to the youngsters in the nest and your on a circle again to start all over !!!!
pjc Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 A well ventilated loft thats not overcrowded will not get repiritory problems!
Lennut Tar Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 A well ventilated loft thats not overcrowded will not get repiritory problems! No offence !!!!!!!!! But I would have to say etc, that's not quite correct in my view. Especially if one happens to race them when they are mixed in with other birds on a transporter, so to speak. Thou it certainly will help them, combat respiratory problems/disease living under those conditions. More so ???????? ;) than living in a pig pen ;D ;D. Enjoy.
mark croker Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 i use naturaline as a preventive and orni-stop by Giantel products as a cure, and my loft is well ventilated
bewted Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 i use naturaline as a preventive and orni-stop by Giantel products as a cure, and my loft is well ventilated if your loft is well ventilated,,,why are you using preventatives and cures ?

mark croker Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 haven't used a cure since puting a tiled roof on and i use naturaline 1 time a week in racing just 4 good measure, dont really need it, but it does no harm
allenyeates Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Seaweed gathered from a clean coast and air dried is a good natural source of mineral and very good for respiritory problems(ask any organic farmer that lives near the coast)Also elderberry juice is easy to make up. As both are natural I personally belive they are better for our birds
Guest shadow Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 very good ventilation and if the same birds keep going down get rid of them do not breed out of them there immune system is suspect
