Guest Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 2x25miles then up to about 35/40 3/4 times then up in pairs from 35/40 takes time but i feel it does them good racing each other home dave
Back garden fancier Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 A very successful mate of mine tosses his widowhood cocks no more than 1 mile, but does it at least ten times a day!
Wiley Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 A very successful mate of mine tosses his widowhood cocks no more than 1 mile, but does it at least ten times a day! i knew a good sprint man who done this and they trapped every single time, not even a circle, but the birds were well schooled upto 50 miles, before the old bird season had started, but always singled tossed, he done his mile trainings only once season started
Tony C Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I treat my natural and w/h teams completely different. I've put my w/h team into the first race without any training at all. My natural team will get one at 10 miles then 5 or 6 at 40 miles, I dont start racing these untill the end of May so I pick and choose my days. Beware of east winds.
schouwman71 Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 Good pigeons will win weather they are trained or not,ime talking about old birds, has long has they exercise well around the lofts, other years ive hardly trained and last year trained them heavy, when i look back my best results were hardly no training, (widowhood only) Les
