has any one tried pairing the birds in a middle section say 6 pair in the 6 box's then spliting them into a section either side of the middle section cocks in one hens in the other, then pairing another 6 pair in the same section , then spliting them so 12 cocks and 12 hens race back to the centre section and of course all the tricks with jealousy this can be played,

was thinking excersise cocks am hens pm trap to the middle, all training back to the middle trapping mix in the middle but main feed once they settle down in there own section

the reason i was thinking of this was i have noticed roundabout hens seem to beat the roundabout cocks, and may be it was due to the nest box section being missed more by the hens tas the cocks that on normal roundabout have access to the box section for most of the day, plus with the above jealousy could be used more

thats it blackdog , i thought excersise once a day trap in  box section but main feed in the pole section , should be great motivation ,first pair home get locked in the box  the other pair have to be locked in the loft outside the box then spilt , can play by mixing the pairs up prior to basketing jealousy hens etc etc. should always be motivated

go on do it and let us know how you get on ,could be an interesting step forward.        andy.

going to get a bit of feed back and change the loft over xmas if positive, room wise it should be no more than racing 12 pairs as normal

i done this some years ago it didnt make much differance only more work for me keep swopping them back and fourth roundabout is the same as this but alot easier ;)

was thinking of the jealousy this system would create, with a center section and doors to there own section from this section i dont think it would need more swopping than roundabout would be about the same , total widowhood would have less swopping but i would think this system would be the same work as roundabout

im not trying to put you or any one off this idea my friend,as i said you dont no intll you try it for your self. i have done this with my birds back in the 90's but things have changed over the years it might work this day and age. sorry if ive disapointed you by saying this. you got to do this for your own piece and mind it might work out for you.john

I think it would be worth checking out the John Magee video as I am sure that is how he raced
