Guest Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 and how long have you lived there? :-), im glad your not my race controller, they have gone up i a north east wind................ oops sorry no a south west wind!! lol :-) cheers no probs! ;D ;D ;D 4 years, attached pic taken 5 mins ago, it's looking out from my garden across to the blckborough hills, the M5 (you can't see it, is between me and the hills about 2 miles away, if you look at a map for junction 27 of the M5 go about 2 mile north, the view you see is immedaitley right of the M5, the camera is to the west of this point on the M5 and the view to the east of this point on the M5, hope that makes sense

Pete that's about the time it stopped raining here. I think they would have been better holding but I'd never make a race controller, cause, the amount of times they've been let go and I'd never have! Bit too soft me. Good news the sun is just about breaking through.

pigeonpete Posted May 20, 2009 Author Report Posted May 20, 2009 well what a disaster that was! after rushing round like a clown and putting loads of people out, and losing business shutting the shop, stood out in the rain and thunder and lightening for 3 hours! did not get a bird till 3 p.m, and got my other at 5p.m, not sure about everyone elses returns as didnt go to the club last night, my mate bob bagnall was in at 12.53, thats the best time i know so far, was still alot of people that hadnt had any as of last night so i believe! pigeon racing hey! is it really for the working man??

That was far too early. He has not done his homework I am afraid. After noon as stated previously it brightend up here and was pushing north.

Guest Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Not a good day to liberate, cleared for a while here but then heavy downpours between 1 & 3. Those early birds are damned good pigeons, sure they will have had a good wind, but being libbed at that time they will have hit heavy rain by the time they came up between Exeter and Crediton and probably for a lot of the journey.

Horses for courses, just not a day to suit your birds maybe? But sadly whereas we all have much better blood in our loft than we did 30 years ago, we still have the situation where only a few have real champions in their loft. Probably like you I'm trying hard to produce some!!
