Guest Rhondda RedFox Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 Its a big decision and I will not make it until a week Tuesday. I am faced with a huge dilema, I have always believed that when a pigeon is in form you keep it going. He will definately not race next year but at the moment he is in such good condition I would be robbing him the opportunity to potentially do it again. If I send him at least I have given him the chance, if its a fair race and I can keep his condition as it is now he will be hard to beat, but that's a big IF. Huy is only 37 miles more afterall.

maxwell Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 To me its more like the welsh north road OPEN., there are so many Nationals in Wales now theres no prestige for winning a national,all the so called nationals this week have had losses and some fanciers lost a lot more than others . It all boils down to one thing in my view,there should be one national and everyone in Wales just flies that national. Something that looks like its NEVER going to happen. Well after reading all the posts this sums it up for me, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and i think you are 100% right.
thunderboult Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 one day we will all fly again under 1 flag,but who will unite us i dont know personally i prefer the new nationals race programme but can accept that when crossing the country from east to west then you need mid week racing to have less clashing. It wont happen but what we need is new nationals race programme,the south road to join us ,flying on thursday and Chris Butler race controller. congratulations to Rhondda Red Fox on his national win last Friday neil you boys should join us on the south road, we're not crossing everyone and if you like the longer races there's more opportunity's on the south.

We are considering joining fror YB's this year though, some of our club mates are dual members.

taffacre Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Dont think the idea of midweek racing will make a lit of difference,the Brussels race was on friday and there were still losses and a lot of good fanciers were clocking in an hour after the national winner,if we were all together we would have such a large birdage that the flyers on the conytnent will make sure they are not going to clash with a large convoy crossing back into WALES.I am personally still 8 missing from brussels and there was a 30 minute gap between my first 2 pigeons.

Guest strapper Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 you boys should join us on the south road, we're not crossing everyone and if you like the longer races there's more opportunity's on the south. i hoped the welsh north road fed would have gone direct south instead of sort of south as we have it now. to me the longest race into france is 506mls...with one in germany at 565mls.

Also a good compromise between the East to West & South organisations. With over 30 National races a year in Wales at the moment surely it cant go on as it is. By the way well done to all the National winners, but personally i would like to see less National Races and all the organisation go up together for these National races. The individual organisations could still run there own open races if they wanted them.

Does the National Flying Club not cover all of the UK? Maybe there should be 1 England National, 1 Wales National and 1 Scotland National, all convoyed together for 1 UK National! That would be worth winning!
