Marcel Borgman from Tornout, (think I have spelt that correct) sold his pigeons in the late 1970's. His family was based on the direct Janssen Bros birds crossed with Louis Van Loon of Popel, I actually had a cock from that auction. One of the princable buyers was Maurice Casaert of Nechin. The top pigeon was named the Plezante a winner of 7 x 1st He was purchased by Paul Haelterman for whom he became a Super Breeder sire of Jonge Plezante 8 x 1sts, Blue Plezante, the Plezante hen etc. The Plezante hen came to me and she bred the 1st Open London North Rd Combine winner in 1988 for Graham White. I still have the Gold Medal in my archives today. She was also the mother of one of my best Captain Paul 15 x 1sts amongst others. The last son from the Plezante I gave to Paul & Steven Gregg in Belfast. The Plezante was later sold to Jean Claude Debeave and bred him at least 2 x 1st National winners. I still have 2 g.dtr of the Plezante in my breeding loft. The Plezante was born in 1973

Hi Pigeon 82,

Think i can help you on this one, The G/Mother in question was raced by Marco Wilson of Cleethorpes a good friend of mine, She won 1st section Dax in the N.F.C. and scored in the open result and the International Hens result. The distance was about 680 miles.

Marco had the Bourgmans De/Klak pigeons, if that name does not sound correct it would have been Carl Young of Young and Gladding who had the mother of Marcos,, klak hen, i handled both the mother and the hen that scored at Dax both superb specimens with super

eye/sign.Those cheqs in your pictures show a remarkable resemblance to the Dax hen.

thankyou very much paul dunno what the blokes name was but he gifted a couple of youngsters to my freind who bred these for me but thanks for the information are these birds ne gud at shorter distancces or more long distance birds

As Phil says,

Borgmans good all round family in fact in my opinion not a long distance family at all. but very good at sprint but i would say they like middle/distance too, but as in all strains you never no there capabilitys till you test them, and the above hen cut it with the best in Europe at Long/ distance.
