Hello fellow flires,

As the race secretaty of our club I would like to present other options to calculating and awarding points in our race results. The way it is done now and been done in our club for ever is the winning bird recieves 100 pts and it goes down in increments of 5 pts till the points run out. How do all of you caculate points? Is it the same for long and short races? I would really appreciate hearing from you on different ways and pros and cons.

Thank You

Yours in the sport.

in my club the points are given as  this the winner is given 1 piont then 2pionts to the 2nd out to the last bird so if there is 27 lofts flying there is 27 pionts the one with the lowest mumbere of pionts in all  the races wins

Yes, there are trophies at the end that the points are used for. There is an Average Speed award, a Champion Bird award, and a Champion Loft award for both YB's and OB's and of course a diploma for places 1-5 for each race.

Thanks for asking and thanks for your ideas.

in our club the points go up as distance increases I think that sucks as it favors a distance bird more than an overall champion

Our club points go.

1st 4 points

2nd 3 points

3rd 2 points

4th 1 point

5th 1 point

6th 1 point

At our club agm it was brought up,WHY should a 6th place bird get the same points as a 4th place bird ?.Im sure a 4th place bird should get more points than a 6th place bird.
