ON THERE GARDEN WATCH 2006 WHICH IS TOMORROW & SUNDAY!

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

AS YOU MUST SUBMIT HOW MANY DIFFERENT BIRD SPECIES &(HAWKS)

YOU SEE IN YOUR GARDEN AT ONE TIME IN 1 HOUR, SO IF THERES 12 BLUE TITS TOGETHER THEN THEY FLY OFF , & 10 COME BACK, 12 WOULD BE THE HIGHEST NUMBER TO REPORT,

& IF YOU SEE AT LEAST 1 HAWK,

THEN 2 HAWKS COME IN YOUR GARDEN

2 WOULD BE THE CORRECT NUMBER TO REPORT.

SO IM PUTTING A POLL ON TOMORROW TO SEE WHO ENTERED!

PLEASE ALL DO YOUR BEST & TELL OTHERS, OR NEIGHBOURS, OR DO YOUR NEIGHBOURS ON THEIR BEHALF.

In the hope that they realise the decline in garden birds is due to the protection orders on the raptors!

No chance,they will just be pleased that their protection policy is proving to work by increasing raptor numbers.They will just highlight the good points in the survey and conveniently forget about declining song birds.

So no help from me,cannot be doing with interfering townies who no nothing about the countryside apart from their blinkered views.

sorry Snowy I have to violently disagree with you here.

 

The RSPB have been informed to my personal knowledge for at least 15 years as to what their freaking hawks are not only doing to the pigeons of The UK but also to the Native Songbirds, they do not take a blind bit of notice and still persue their intention of putting their precious hawks and falcolns into every town city and village in the Country.

 

The RSPB have a lot more money in their bank account than most charities in the UK, the only way you can attack them is by disrupting their revenue source, by delving into their web page and finances to see where the corporate donations come from and picketing them when they have their flag days, how many little old ladies and gents for that matter will drop a few bob in their collecting boxes that have nice pretty songbirds pictured on the front not realizing that their contribution is funding the RSPB's insane raptor policies which will eventuall wipe the pretty little song birds out.

 

If I was in England I would personally call the RSPB and inpolitely tell them to F$%k off with their precious bird watch.

 

and I'll play duelling banjo's anytime any place anywhere for you.

it looks like you was talking about me in raising this topic, as you can see i was only trying to defend pigeons & wanted to let them know that there are more hawks around than they think & also let the public know, as they are secretive sneeky birds, & i have never seen a hawk before in the city untill i started up last year with my pigeons, when one attacked one of my birds 2 feet in front of my eyes, i understand your point 100%, after i started this topic,

so i apologise 100% sincerly to yourself beauty homer, as i think we got our wires crossed.& too anyone else who i may of offended.

I know your intentions were honourable in the first place, but people who have been in the sport for years know what the RSPB is all about.

 

When I flew in The Rossendale Valley of Lancashire, we were plagued by three pairs of Peregrine Falcons they bred in captivity they settled in the old stone quarries. I personally lost 11 out of my 18 old bird team in 10 days.  They were so paranoid about these falcons that they has watchers guarding their nests during daylight hours.  I and several of my club mates contacted them to make them aware of what damage these birds were doing not only to the racing flocks but to the indigenous song bird population.

 

Were they interested, not in the least and went totally on the defensive, so much so that I was under threat that if I was seen within a mile of the nests I would be slammed up, this threat came after I asked permission to recover pigeon rings from the nesting sites, it was very apparent that they did not want any form of publicity as to what mayhem their prized possessions were creating.

 

The very mention of the RSPB makes me want to vomit.

One of  club mates stopped to watch the RSPB and other officials  release two peregrines near guildford one day. He mentioned to the RSPB officer that one of his friends had racers at the bottom of the hill where they were being freed, and to his amazement the officer said not for much longer. So I am afraid the RSPB can shove it up their **** if they want help. Considering the organisation stands for protecting birds, it seems only birds that can get them maximum publicity and monetary benefits fall in to this category.
