ive realy had to study ny pairs this year all my racers will rear one young from either them selfs or foster got a new system this year so only one round of ybs for me which should be around 40 in total with the ones i bought too dont have time for 2nd & 3rd pairs & got grand set of old birds so not gonna have much room for too many yearlings next year. also not much chance of loosing many old birds if no channel races too

40 for me and being very selective after I've moved them over.  This year for me, it's Quality AND Quantity.  We'll see.

the question is how many do you want on your team?  you will loose the occational bird.  but if you are breeding from your top birds and training properlly then your loses shouldnt be high.  (there are always bad tosses and the likes)

i have seen many fanciers loose birds and take more time b/c all the birds are different ages...  some too young to go that far and others too strong on the wing.

i'll be breeding about 40 then I whittle em down and keep the best, I'll be happy with about 25 for first race! ;)

onl breeding 25 - 30 this year. people keep going on about quality and not quantity, but these top clas fanciers have both and when you combine the 2 then you become dangerous
