how many fanciers will be sticking to the pigeon vet david palmer,[and many more]about, the ammount of ybs to the size of loft.i.e.one half to one cubic metre per bird depending on ventilation.?     i,e, a loft 6ft high 6ft broad, and 12 feet long, which is 2metres times 2 metres times 4  metres equals,,,,,16 pigeons or if exeptionaly well ventilated 32 pigeons

my young bird section of my loft is 10 ft by 7 and holds 50 comfortably in narrow box perches..but my loft over here because of our extreme temperatures have fully open front as well as i have mesh under neath the perches so droppings go straight to the ground .this profides very good venitlation..so i can afford to over crowd a little

My YB loft is 7ft x 6ft and last year i put 30 in it and had nowt but trouble, so ive put louvres all round to get as much air in as possible and a chimney on the roof with an electric fan in it and will house no more than 20 in it this year.

My loft is 18 x 6 foot 4 sections and i only allow 16 pigeons in each section, and thats only while i sort my future stock and team out.my widowhood team is only 8 strong and my youngsters will only be 16 strong.it is vital you keep your birds healthy at all times as small compartments will only cause trouble if not looked after.

I WAS READING THAT A PIGEON NEEDED 10.2 CUBIC SQUARE FEET INSIDE A LOFT IE BREATHING SPACE SO TO FIND OUT HOW MANY YOUR LOFT WILL HOLD MULTIPLY THE HEIGHTXWIDTHXLENGTH THEN DIVIDE BY 10.2 I USED THIS AND ITS SPOT ON NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER !!!! ;D ;D ;D

i think nowadays fanciers are breeding far too many ybs per space,[ which i have done in the past] but found it very strange to count the ybs left at the end of the season, is allmost spot on to a half to one cubic metre per loft [ strange]

I have 2 racing lofts one is about 8' x 40' ft with 3 sections I currently have 23 ob's in it my other is about 10' x 30' I have 40 in it I think the LEAST amount of birds you can get by with the better off you are you are better off with a few healthy ones than a lot of overcrowded ones
