Guest Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 What significance do the other members place on a birds showing a third band. We've bred 3 or 4 this year from the Janssen stock
Diamond dave Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 It would seem that the third band has quite a significance as the word "Driebander" is in the pedigree of several different strains. I know it in the Spence and Nicholls birds being Van den Bosche. Does any body know any more? Perhaps this years driebanders will prove to be successfull for you Hyacinth - keep us informed wont you.
Guest Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 I sure will Dave. I too have seen it on pedigrees, I was just wondering if the third band signified a good flyer or a good breeder.
Jack Barkel Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 Hello All, It is only a genetic trait in some families, just as is the white toe nail on black toe nailed birds, or the white splash above the wattle. Like everything else, some will be a sign of good pigeons in some families, and can be just the reverse in others. Regards, Jack
schouwman71 Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 i think gus hofken had a good blue cock called the driebander and it also bred many champion pigeons aswell ?
