hi anterptom03, i d,not, keep any stock, loft is only 10x5, this suits me have not go deep pockets,only keep6pairs 2 race, go 23 ybs,12 ybs were bred 4 me, i am not a member of any fed, only intested in classic racing trying 2 build a long distance team (bicc) minded.

I'm in the same boat. Two self built 8x10 lofts.. 1 for young birds and one for old birds.

After spending much of the evening readiing thru a bunch of articles on the Elimar site it seems there's quite a few very successful fanciers who make do breeding solely from their best racers. I'm mainly interested in my combines 350-500 mile races.

We do not breed from our race birds, just the stock pigeons

Tom, if you have the patience to keep trying new lines i think its the best way, stock pigeons are expensive to buy and its another loft to house and feed all year. Having said that i wouldnt breed off the race team unless they're winning or very well bred. Just means buying a draft of YB's in each year till something shows
