PIGEON_MAN Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 I WAS ALLWAYS TOLD THAT THEY NEED TO BE ON DARKNESS FOR A MINIMUM OF 16 HOURS PER DAY,DO MINE FROM 5 pm.9am,AND TO TAKE THEM OFF IT 4 WEEKS BEFORE THEIR FIRST RACE.
jimmy white Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 ;D ;D ;D just watch out your not sending baldy ybs ;D ;D ;D
speedbird Posted July 3, 2006 Author Report Posted July 3, 2006 encourage them to pair up either put old hens/cocks & add some nest boxes, bowls will hold there feather better
Guest WINGS 04 Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 IF YOU START THEM TRANING THAT WILL ALSO HELP HOLD THER FEATHERS WE DARKEN 5PM 9AM
jimmy white Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 i used to do the same as you wings, ybs were winning well, but really theres a few fanciers that are not so keen on yb racing, give them a few races and let them moult naturally, it saves them having two moults as ybs, so its really up to every ones fancy, but to be honest ive never found any detrimental effects on darkneess ybs as old birds
