The day before the race

any ideas what you do to your birds and what u give them ect as i need ideas as racing starts nxt week.

give em rest don't let them out and let them eat as much fuel type foods as they want

the race is 97 miles

Feed them at 9-00 and take the feeders away at 12-00, at 15-00 give them a light feed of red band or conditioning seed just to make sure they drink before they are basketed I have used rice as this expands and holds water which is useful in this hot weather and pray your convoyer gets them up as early as possible.

mine get full feed of gerry plus mid morning but our first race is only 44 miles

Snowy,Do yourself a favour,leave the 1st two races alone.it`s to hot.and besides a lot of the crap most fanciers sent will be lost by then.

hi snowy, ya dint have to perpere ya bird the day before the race it a build up to the race ya need to prepher for. sunday till wedsday thay are feed on a depurative mix of small seed,till thurday morning. thay will go out.fly come in to get 1/2 ounce of food whitch will consist of a 50/50 mix  :-/ dep & race mix.thurday night if thay go out  on entering the loft thay will get full race mix whitch will be 1 ounce,sound not a lot of corn :-/ but dont forget thay have had a half ounce in the morning.them friday the day  of basketing i will feed as early as poss & take all corn away at dinner time 12pm.that way the birds should of had all the corn the body need to absorb for the following days race,just a thought speck.

not 100% as its our first ever race so we sent 2 birds that we thought fit,
