fancypigeon_88 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 it normaly takes between 18/19 days for the eggs to chip. then i normaly take young 1's away around 23 days old our when ive seen the young 1's picking up there self... asoon as the young 1's are getting onto the top perchs i start letting them out.
Guest IB Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 They incubate for 18 days from the day the second egg is laid. Split when the youngsters are eating and are feathered on the underside of the wings, usually between 24 and 28 days old. Provided the young birds are protected [in a viewing cage] you can let them sit 'outside' on the loft or landing board from 2/3 days after they are split and eating & drinking OK. Keep a watch over them though, they can be very vulnerable [hawk / cat attack] personally I don't let mine out till they can fly..
