I dont think this is a very accurate survey as most of these lines are Janssen based

Hi,

yes i have hear of BUSSCHEARTS but as i said before i could not list all strains, i dont think that the busshearts pure are able to cope with todays type of racing. i know people who have crossed the busshearts which has resulted in better birds.

The janssen strain has stood the test of time, many fanciers now are tyring to better this strain by crossing them this is wokring in some cases but the strain does not last very long before another is created better. where as the pure janssens have stood the test of time.

The following fanciers i beleive have been the making of the pigeon sport

Belgium & Holland - Janssen Arendonk, De Klak (built on the Janssen strain), Van loon, and Meulemans,

Long distance strain M.Van Geel (Jan arden strain)

The Janssen strain was the basis of the de klak strain where has the de klaks produced many winners jos van limpt de klak and janssen bros kept swapping birds toproduce further superstars many top names was produced from these two strains

De Blauw 613, Blauwe Doffer, Mooie, Gooie, Merckx, Jonge Merckx, Janssen 019, Janssen 045, Chantilley, Showuman, Verbart 46 , verbart 55, De Generral, Jonge Generral, Bartoli, Goede Jaarling, De knook, Marietje, Witoger, DE 25, Blauw 23 duif, Racket, Racketman, De Bomber, Didi, Witenpenke.

note some of these have been raced by other fanciers but are bred from direct de klak / janssen

Hi Jimmy,

they were racing many years before J Janseen started,as for Janseen Bros(and sis) they never dared fly in open competition at anything more than mediocre very short sprints,as for that awful book, what some ill imformed boys call the white bible, the only decent information in there would`nt full a very small pamphet, and why did they wear those silly hats, and i bet they couldn`t even speak english,so how bad`s that!

    Andrew,

If you would have said"made most money out of clever advertising" you could have been nearer to the truth,as for making the sport NOT A CHANCE.

Some Quotes here:

Quote from Pigeon Report De Duif

I think, when we look at the number of people who attended this auction and the prices offered for the 66 birds, we can safely say that Jos Van Limpt must be one of the top rated flyers of all time.

Jos Van Limpt purchased his first Janssen birds direct from the brothers in the 1940’s and continued making purchases up until the 1990’s. However, during the last 11 years, no additional purchases were made from the brothers as his own family was consistently surpassing the quality of the brother’s birds, which should be expected considering the advanced age of the brothers and the fact that six of the seven brothers had died during this time period.

Few will ever attain to the racing success of Jos Van Limpt. Fewer still will ever breed prepotent birds with the worldwide reputation and impact of “De Knook”, “Verbart 46”, “613”, “Marietje”, the good breeding pair “Vechter x Witpenneke”, etc.

Here was a man that possessed the double-edged talents of Master Breeder and Master Handler. Against these, there is no defense. Well done “De Klak”, well done!

The janssen pigeons are the best strain of pigeon there ever has been, and the fastest, just look at the great van-reets of today,a break down from janssen pigeons bought in by old man van reet.Ben get ur knoledge right because they did enter open races and some were up to 200mls and they still won, as for de klak "what a pigeon breeder" same as the late "wout smeulders" with the likes of the "531" 15x1sts, i could go on and on but it would fill too many pages, the janssen men out there owe there success to the likes of "rooie appie" the red lines as well as the "old 05", name a strain any better than the jannsen pigeons. The late Karl hermans were good and still are so are the Busschearts. Good luck to all of you in 2006.

Hi Hyacith,

To be honest,if i had to fly rubbish like that ,i`d have a job getting them out of Portland on the day,let alone Pau!

    Shuman,Great van reets of today???????your having a laugh,i would need a telescope to find a real winner in any of their pedigrees,and what`s more ,i would need a TIME MACHINE  to go back far enough to find the last time you scored in a True National.  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D:P :P :P :P :P :P 8) 8) 8) 8) :'( :'( :'(

Ben thats how bad you are you havnt even spelled my name right, and as for nationals i have never entered them due to time and work commitments, and as you speak so highly for yourself what breed do you fly and whats your results,as for getting janssens out from portland my good friend trevor hardake of hardaker % sykes fly pure janssens aswell as crossed, they have won the northern classic a few times ( pure janssen) and have been in the 1st ten positiones in the midland national (pure janssen) carnt get any better than that ben, and i think they will win it very soon as they are getting better every year. Whats your best results then BIG HEAD.  Andy well said, this thread was put in just for what breeds do you find the most successfull and dont need arseholes like ben causing avok.Keep taking the tablets ben you might get better one day.
