Guest ben Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Hi Westy, This is the most important season for racing, get your planning right,NOW,get it down on paper, check your system,is the loft right? did you have trapping problems?,did you bred to many rounds of babies, which will upset many race systems?were you happy with the feeding?training/,did the birds go off form at certain periods in the season...get it all down in black and white,do your homework NOW,it will be to late when the season starts. Get it right now, planning is everything, for sure,

stevebelbin Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I miss being able to get that buzz about them anymore, racing this year felt tedious and I only got the buzz twice in the whole season !! Hope it returns one day ;D
Guest jason Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I've voted not bothered, I do miss racing but you need this time of year to have a sort out, get fresh birds in, study where you went wrong in the previous season, breed next years young birds and get prepared for the next season. jason
Guest Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 yes i miss racing, because now everyone can't think of anything else to do so they start arguing, nearly coming to blows at club meetings! yet some clubs are nice and civilised so are the complete oposite!!
rockinrick Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 yep yep yep we missing the racing , my birds have taken up the game i spy cos they so bored . lol
MsPigeon Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Oh my goodness, Hi Westy, I was wondering how your season went. I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed it cause the sport can't afford to lose dedicated young flyers like you! I voted I DO miss it, but I agree that there is other things to do with the pigeons to take up the slack time. It's also a good time to read up on pigeon stuff and read the news and views of the forum members. Yours in the sport. Carol

Guest Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 At the moment I'm glad racing is over with for the year, I can now relax and concentrate on my other hobbies, craft work crochet work and setting The AU Help a Beginner Programme up for 2007. Another week or two I may feel completely different and wish the birds were racing home on Saturday
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 YER BUT THIS YEARS GOING SO QUICK IT WILL BE HEAR SOON,YEY!!!LOL
carl Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Westy was going to answer yes but couldnt vote as i do miss racing but im also glad of the break, come this years youngbird season the birds were getting hard work looking after the old and youngbirds, training, feeding and going to work can get quite hard when i fly on my own.But i love it and do miss racing,i dont miss the race bills. carl greenhow
snowy Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 miss racing YES! but still have to dig out a 10x6 or 8x6 2 foot high piece of soil, so hopefully santa might bring WESTY another loft to put next to his 10x6 one ;D ;D ;D be good son and you never know what santa & his reindeers might bring (lol) ;D

Get it right now, planning is everything, for sure, generally had a few trapping problems, (NOT NOW) nows the time i cut there feed down a little, you aught to see them trap now! 100 miles an hour through the bob traps i made! CHING, CHING, CHING! thats all you hear, also had a few nice mornings recently, had a few y/birds (late breds) untrained & unraced, so took them 3 miles away & all back CHINGING through the bob trap. a lot of time for planning like ben said. thanks all. snowy & westy.
paul l Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 I CANT WAIT TO GET STARTED IN MY FIRST YEAR OF RACING THIS YEAR HOPEFULLY COMEING PAUL
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 you should see myne trap, hit the board and in
Wiley Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 i miss it but this is the most important time of the season i think, cos you have to review last year and improve,so dont really think there is a break really, and this time of year is hardest is when it gets really cold and when you go college the time is dark,i hate this time of the year but this years flying buy soon it will be breeding time!
birdman55678 Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 I don't miss it cause ob season will soon be up on us. Its time to sort and pair up the breeders by december 1st.. luck. Ed
