mac1 Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 hi last season my birds would not trap from a race as good as i would like, any ideas thanks
birdman55678 Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 Only one thing to do is cut back on the feed, if they are hungry I will guarentee you they will trap immediately. Also if your feeding before you train then don't, and if you aren't then don't feed the night before. Feed is your only control. Just my thoughts anyway. Ed
westy Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 get em used to the only way in is through the trap and they will soon learn as myne have let em spend nites out ontill they learn.
paul l Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 get em used to the only way in is through the trap and they will soon learn as myne have let em spend nites out ontill they learn. I AGREE WITH U WESTY LET THEM STAY OUT OVER NIGHT THEY WILL SOON LEARN
jimmy white Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 keep them tame and confident and let them know your voice and reward them with a tit bit
Beanz Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Mac are we talking about old or young birds
westy Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 and make sure evreytime they enter the loft they get food so they think if i go in i will get grub.
ACE LOFTS Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Ii think your lacking motivation mate. the birds have no intrest in going in. if it was young birds then i would say cut the feed but as its old birds its motivation. if your flying natral then i suppose they are a bit lazy going in but they still should when called. widow cocks or hens should go straight in when door is opend.
Beanz Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Must agree with ace on this ones widowhood cocks should knock the back of the loft out if right, if your on natural birds should still trap, maybe there are cats knocking about when your not there, if they are on natural and not feeding youngsters trim their food a bit.
mac1 Posted December 15, 2006 Author Report Posted December 15, 2006 thanks for the comments im natural but trying widowhood and natural this year.
Sajfos Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Probably better if you concentrate on one method or the other....
