Hi Flyboy,

For a start, moulting patterns can sometimes be traced back to when birds have been bred themselves, also familiy traits can have some influence on so said precedings, egg laying and sitting, hatching, enviroment of lofts, weather patterns, systems such as so called"natural",the many forms of widow managment, darkening for your old bird teams...all these possibles and probables make the moulting game a conundrum, you may enjoy working your way through, esepicially if you are prepared to study and write down the variables ,bird to bird, which if nothing else ,should,if you have the mental makeup, help you to become a better, thinking fancier.

                         Good day
