I have a 5 month old pigeon here bought in for stock. I trial paired him with a hen a couple of weeks ago and he was cooing and calling and such. But then i put them together to be paired, there has not been a coo or anything out of him. I dont think he is ready to pair up, or he just doesnt like the hen i have put him with. Any suggestions?

Is he in with others wiley sometimes with more dominant cocks around they become very shy and nervous if young.

Try putting him in a youngbird section on his own till he pairs ok then let him have his box back.

ill give it a try darran thanks. But would have thought he would have paired in his box. As i keep the stock boxed and let each pair out individually. But i will give it a try.Any more suggestions will be greatful. It wouldnt suprise me if the young cock is shy as he is a wild in the loft his one as soon as you enter his crash bang walloping everywhere

i was reading an article today and it said exactly how the cock was acting, so i changed the hen as suggested, what a change in the pigeon his showing out, ringing beaks ect, but like some young cocks he hasnt got the treading part down to an art. Different pigeon totally!lol just looked out there and his lost his virginity infront of my eyes lol
