Half an hour before basketing i put the nest bowls in the boxes and lock the cocks in the half of the box with the nest bowl i go have my tea and basket the hens the cocks will be very low in the bowls calling the hens and i place the hen basket in the loft and release the hens then i start letting the hens into the boxes but i dont let any cocks tread the hens.Do this every week and the cocks get know when you put the bowl in the box the hens will be coming into the loft some weeks i just show the bowl its all about motivation.

my advice would be to treat all the birds as individuals , i found that some flew better treated differant ways [ had one w, hood cock was better seeing the hen on thurs and not friday b4 basketing] another better not seeing his hen at all , could get an older cock comming well as the season advanced by giving him a 3 day yb, [no mate . no eggs just took to yb ] i would just say knowing their fads and fancies :)
