The White Rapido Man Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 how are you 'early pairers getting on'????? Mine were put together on the 08.12.07...after a couple of weeks of windng them up and upto now.......only got one egg out of 17 pairs...... nest have been built - pairings are solid - and birds in cracking nick...... I'm guessing the hot and cold snaps are putting the off. Other lcoal fanciers are having the same problem........I'm abit disappointed really as I'm usually chipping out around now!!!! Is this a national porblem??? ar well.....such is life
snowy Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 maybe the cold snaps & also have you got lighting in your loft?? to make the hours of lightness longer,??
Guest j.bamling Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 cold does not make any diferance in my opinion i have about 50 ybs in the nest now they are only a few days old mind you but they layed very well only a few blank eggs off old birds ect which will have to go next year but apart from that very good !!!
Okitsme Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 Hi, I paired up the first week in December and hatched the first one out today. Got more to hacth tomorrow and then two more pairs next week. All in all everything is going smoothly.

The White Rapido Man Posted December 31, 2007 Author Report Posted December 31, 2007 ........very strange. I dont not have lighting in the loft but its never been a poblem yestur-year...... After revisitng the loft I can only sumize that the hens are too heavy..so I'm goin to feed em on barley and peas for a few days...and see if this helps!!!!
George UK Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 i always cut the vent feathers and show the cock bird another hen it gets him a bit frisky with his hen lol
