If you were thinking of having a tiled roof I would do away with the 3'' gap and use double roman tiles and have ridges along the top. The way double romans lay allows air to escape.

be careful not to exceed 4 metres high otherwise you will have the planning people on your back if any body complains get your neighbours on your side show them your plans first

This looks great.I would be more for gap round base of front and of sides at floor level.  This gap is best emulated at fear of loft at roof level .This allows air to come in at ground level, and go out at roof level. Best way to ventilate loft mate, nothing wrong with doing this in addition to your louvers.

It also allows your floor to stay dry which is of great benifit when it comes to the health of your birds. Please p m me if you would like more help or advice not a problem. I have built 3/4 lofts over the years which helps a lot at the planning stage.
