Guest Vic Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 With good returns on the south road Saturday, I was amazed to find that two of the biggest organisations held over, knowing that on Tuesday they would be in "the last chance saloon" Why on earth? They decided against a Saturday lib, doesn't make sense in my book. I've even heard in some quarters that, the MNFC have cold feet, regarding pigeons being liberated in Easterly winds, realising that the scousers section, second biggest now. will do the honours. NW National. Two scousers from Widnes, worrall and Crowe wupped the arses of all the Manchester Guys, etc. on Saturday I am told. As I was Saying, "I don't believe it. "LOL Victor ( call me what you like) Too many old arses in this dwindling game, eh!

We all will be dead soon ;D ;D ;D "Problem solved' :P . Enjoy.
Guest Vic Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Len. (Nut.) I have squirells on my brain at the moment, Sorry! By the way, young Ben races from East to West! Hence the sound barrier nearly being broken. But these birds of today? WOOSH!
Guest Vic Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 I have since heard, that a "political decision" was made by somebody in the MNFC. What does this mean?
Guest Vic Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Rose, you did say yourself, that if, no lib Saturday. Wednesday was perhaps, the only way out, of the predicament the big two are now in, up to their necks, may I add. Why couldn't they see it that way? Every day in the basket is taking its toll out of each and every bird. Too many, money grabbers, is the way Vic reads it. If liberated tomorrow, all looks well up to the Midlands, then continual rain. Somebody, somewhere has mucked it all up. As I keep saying, we are the ones who are killing this beautiful game.
mark Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 why dont they bring them back a few miles closer to the uk,
richard Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 I think they are already close enough to you and I Mark!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
Guest Vic Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 A move southerly to your next race point, may have solved your plight, warmer, better weather all round. lol.
billy wilson Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 cant understand why your birds were not up on saturday it was good weather all the way our birds were up from lilliers on saturday unc light north east wind changing to blustery enroute lot of birds missing on the night but what do we race pigeons for we take the good with the bad if it had been low cloud cover it would have been different, lots of yearlings wired saturday,we only had 2 on the day from11 but not complaining got 2 back this morning one okay the other one 6 7 8 9 10 primary flights missing and4 secondary flights missing in one side dont know how he got back like that. billy :-/ : ;D
Guest Vic Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Billy. I had a similar position last week. one of my birds arrived with a hole in its side, (lower pectoral) and with all secondaries missing, half a wing shall we say? Caused I think, by young predators, learning how it's done. Five weeks time he'll be going to the pre- ultimate one.
Guest Vic Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Alright for you Vic where you are your birds get a decent distance dont think im cut out to race from the southcoast im going be looking at about middle of June before i can get a 250ml race Rose, your read it wrong! I meant moving them out of the bad weather in France, to better weather further south, to give them a flying start. PIGEONS WILL GO THROUGH THE BAD STUFF, ONCE ON LINE FOR HOME. BUT FIND IT HARD GOING, IF LIBERATED IN THE BAD WEATHER.
Guest casbri Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 they will be good birds if they get through this mist up here and rain all day dont know how far it goes down country but birds are in for a tough race.up to sheffield.
carlsberg Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 they will be good birds if they get through this mist up here and rain all day dont know how far it goes down country but birds are in for a tough race.up to sheffield. been rainung and misty all day in matlock
Guest Vic Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Did Vic not predetermine the outcome? Most of us are treated like mopheads, by the ones who are pulling the strings, Don't you think?
peterpau Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I think if you had been on weatherpigeon you would see it said liberations were only likely in the east of France (Lillers) not the west. Just how far further down would you go. My son is working in Palamos and nearly got washed away. I'd have been happier with Thursday Lib.
