I was just wandering what other members would do. Our club have been no further than Swainswick (young birds ) so far this year 140 miles (approx) This weekend is the combine some 280+ miles would you send or not. Saturday was a bad race for me with only 1 returning on Saturday and the rest (5) returning today (sunday)

Cheers in advance Mark ( Denton H S)

Youngbird season is for education and if I was you settle for the experience they have gained and save them for next year.

If you've got a large team of youngsters left then you could send some but only if you can afford to lose them, if you've only got a small team them save them.

Always remember they are your future team.

Mine went 162 mile and had a tough 'un. So I didn't send to Guernsey, instead, I sent to Bath 82 mile and then in to Lamballe 274 mile. It's not necesarily the milage, I wouldn't send cos they came on the Sunday. And I don't think of me self as being soft on 'em. 274 mile is a good fly for a natural young bird (57th) 751 mile from Palamos. So as you can see I ask a lot from them.
