Guest Freebird Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 Bob, as your son and good friend says, YOUR NOT GIVING UP. I was about to write my case when I read Albear's post and if he can do that for the love of pigeons then surely you can too. I have tumblers as you know but had a taste of racing the birds when I was a teenager ( long time ago ) still working and doing up an old house etc. so don't have the time to put in to race birds at the moment but come retirement I will and I can't wait. So what I'm trying to say is write down ALL the positives about your life now regarding the birds, then all the negatives and include all your past memories etc. etc. and this will clear the fog from your head regarding where you stand. Just remember there is always someone worse off than yourself i.e. me and Albear and many more. Don't make me angry by giving up cause you are feeling down and everything is against you but be true to yourself and turn this around and use it to mould a new Bob, a Bob that takes on a problem like this. Hope this does'nt come accross the wrong way as it is intended to spark off positive thinking like you usually do on here. You have done so much for others on here it's now time to be selfish and think of yourself. Whatever you decide I wish you well in your retirement but hey, get a grip and don't give up. Keep the dream of seeing that EARLY lone bird closing his wings and dropping in to his proud owner whose heart is pounding like it did on his first sexual encounter ( sorry folks, was that just me(evil) ) hands shaking like a gibbering heap to get it clocked in fast then wondering if it really happened as it all seemed so quick and timeless. Come on Bob, don't let us all down mate. Chazz.
Guest Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 I would just like to say a big Thank You to each and every one of you for your words of encouragement, I have found it a bit overwhelming. I have to say that this time last week I was determined that I couldn't carry on keeping pigeons any more. Now, a week later and because of some heart wrenching pm's from some fantastic people, who I have never met, I am beginning to think a little differently now. So, to those people, (you know who you are, so it would be unfair to pick anyone out for special mention, as you are all equal in my eyes), I would just say that your words have meant a lot to me. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH
