Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 While down at Peterborough for a weeks holiday i attended the Liberation site at the showground which is absolutely fantastic for liberating racing pigeons, one of the organisations that was there was the West Essex Federation who had a Geraldy vehicle and trailer which was very impressive. Took a couple of photos, pigeons cleared very quickly heading south although broke into two batches going roughly in the same direction.
Tony C Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 I race with the West Essex and believe there were 1085 pigeons liberated, the fed winner done a velocity of 1264ypm flying 71 miles with excellent returns all round. I finished 3rd fed in this race with a hen that also took 5th fed the week previous from this race-point. Thanks for sharing Gareth.
