holmsidelofts Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Heres the big question. You come home from the club on a saturday night, to find you have won the lottery, hooray we scream. After buying your new big house and getting your 100 foot plus new loft erected you have the dilemma of where do you go to purchase birds to fill it, its your choice, money is no object. Where would you go and why?
owen101 Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 would buy the best from each one and then give the rest to charity thats left over

Wiley Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 id do what busshaert done, go to the best lofts across the world and buy there best and cross them
Guest Davy Fleming Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Depends on what distance you want to compete in . Certainly wouldn't go to a big stud , although they will produce some winners from time to time they are always going to be a bit limited . Would prefer to go to an exceptionally successful fancier that has been competing for years at the distance you have chosen and buy him out lock stock and barrel , that is provided that money is not a problem . will get them in a few weeks \i suppose when the lottery comes up. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Wakey Wakey Davy boy
pjc Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 buy the best in the uk, but only birds flying into the kind of area you fly into and at the distance you want to fly. When you've done that employ the breeder as your loft manager to get the best out of his birds!!
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 im happy with what ive got in my stock shed . but if i had to id try get a round from van de brande to race but ive herd hes fully booked for next two years

Guest WINGS 04 Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 me i would go to IRELAND as the birds we need to race have to be hard and if they can race in to ireland they will do for me
DOVEScot Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 I'd buy Chick a good loft hoover with an extended guarantee so she would be sorted for the next 5 years ;D
Guest youngzimmy Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 if you aint got the touch with them money aint gonna make a blind bit of difference and thats for sure if you are winning with what you have got stick with it
ritchie1 Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 buy in britain at least you know they will fly here in scotland 80 percent of the time
Guest KING BILLY Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Heres the big question. You come home from the club on a saturday night, to find you have won the lottery, hooray we scream. After buying your new big house and getting your 100 foot plus new loft erected you have the dilemma of where do you go to purchase birds to fill it, its your choice, money is no object. Where would you go and why? ask budggie hes done it ;D ;D ;D ;D
Guest KING BILLY Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 the best looking doos i have seen for the purpise of long distance races must be RAYMOND MOLEVELD jan arden bass pigeons and your right you would need to win the lottery to buy them ;)
Guest IB Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Based on what I have seen so far, I don't believe loads of money buys success with pigeons. There is no one that I know of that has spent 'money no object' on birds and afterwards been constantly 1st in every race they have entered, at their chosen distance. If I was spending 'money no object' on pigeons, then that is the level of success I would expect from my spending. And that success in itself would bring problems, from the green-eyed brigade, because their first statement would be 'aye it's OK for him with his money & set-up, and the second one [probably] 'aye he's up to something'.
Guest strapper Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 if money was no object id pack racing in all together. because if i had that kind of money id have no time for them lol. but seriously,i wouldnt be buying children off the champs id buy the champs...but thats obvious.
Guest KING BILLY Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 i would buy jock donaldson wife and doos and leve the big man in the house ;D ;D ;D ;D
blaz Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 money no object i would buy 6 a dozen of the birds in Stevie b avatar
Guest Owen Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 What then Jas? You would'nt be allowed to fly them. I think Marsarella did that very thing and found that no-one would fly against him. If you bought a really big team perhaps you could arrange your own races and take bets on the winners. One Loft Races every week? Could work!
Guest frank dooman Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Brian Denny enough said ;)
