Guest IB Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Prescription-only medicine in UK, [POM-V] available only from a vet, and then only after seeing the patient..
coey Posted February 1, 2008 Author Report Posted February 1, 2008 if it is prescription only, how would i get it. would i get it from a vet?
coey Posted February 1, 2008 Author Report Posted February 1, 2008 i will contact vets now, thanks mate.
coey Posted February 1, 2008 Author Report Posted February 1, 2008 who advised you and what illness for ? i sent a dropping test to a vet. he said i needed to treat for coxoid and canker. i done this and the droppings begun to be long and firm, but after a few days some went very watery. i emailed the vet and he said to give them amoxycillin for 4 days. i asked where i could get it,but no reply from him. sent another email asking again, but no reply. i will give him a ring.
Guest j v ward Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 amoxicillin is a semisynthetic analog of penicillin if you get any check the dosage as you can do more arm than good if you over dose
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Prescription-only medicine in UK, [POM-V] available only from a vet, and then only after seeing the patient.. Easily obtainable without a vet ever having to see a pigeon, as is anything you need for a pigeon

frank1 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 hi just woundering wot this product is used for does it cure everything or just some stuff
invalidusername Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 Well, as it's an antibiotic, whatever it does help, it won't have any use against a virus. Sorry, probably not that helpful :-)
frank-123 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 top flyer in the uk uses it if his birds are ill but its not on his video
frank1 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 i have been given a tub of mycolyte and a tub of amox
frank1 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 i never ask if i should bin them or not i ask wot they are used for
invalidusername Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 i never ask if i should bin them or not i ask wot they are used for Perhaps a bit rude? It was a perfectly reasonable statement and question. If you don't have any problems, there's nothing to treat, and if you do, the question could have answered whether this treatment would be any good for it?
frank-123 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 think he has a few video's but i aint telling who he is
frank1 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 i got told that it cured 99.9% of everything that pigeon's get
pjc Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 it is just another broad spectrum antibiotic which will cure many infections that any antibiotic will cure but will also strip many of the birds natural imunities which makes them suseptable to other infections! Phil
frank1 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 pjc never ment to offend u with that staement but the products could be usefull in the fture
pjc Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 no offence taken, i am just very anti the blind use of antibiotics. As far as i'm concerned if anybody has a problem they should find out what the problem is and then treat it with correct medication. There are to many fanciers who think they have a problem and just give a course of "cure it all" allowing secondry infections to set in! Phil
