Hi Guys,

Can someone please advise me. My stock birds droppings have gone all blackish and slimey and they dont smell very well. Could it be salmonella?

Thank you

have they had black minerals or access to mud ? either way hard to dianose muddy dropping , but if dark green slimey i usualy give live yoghurt  , a throat swab may be needed if you suspect there going down with something

try some yoghurt and brewers yeast on feed with a bit of fruit juice preferably lemon or orange leave for an hour to dry then feed , the yoghurt should return them to normal if not ailing

Hi Tony,

No mate, they are still eating their portion of feed. They dont look sick or anything. The thing is I paired up on the 1st of Dec so I am also hoping it might just be stressed from being locked in the nestboxes.

Black slimey droppings, smelly, and if there sticky to me get them tested!

I'd go with that Wiley - could be an number of thingsm better to be safe than sorry than just blind treating for something that may not be there in the first place............
