Amiee Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Can someone help us We have a youngen only eating a tiny bit of corn very lose feathered and wet dropings any ideas what it could be
just ask me Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 maybe a swab test might be the best way to go as nearly every pigeon illness caused wet louse or green droppings :-/
Amiee Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 Do you think it could be something to do with the crop why they are not eating alot
fletch Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 try feeding the bird on its own as i also have a young bird that only eats small corn, i noticed he wasnt eating bigger corns, so originaly i was feeding him larger corn by hand, but now give him a good handful of food on his own by the side of the loft, before all the others are called in, now he is starting to eat the larger corns, so for me was worth pursavering with, so i would possible feed him more by hand till he is eating more on his own, as for the watery droppings it could just be that he is not eating enough and drinking to much..
Guest Owen Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 I am sorry mate but you have not given us much to go on. Going on the bit you did say, you give me the impression that this is just one that has gone wrong from a batch. That being the case, you will have to isolate the bird and preferably consult a decent Vet. If you rely on advice from this Forum you will be wasting valuable time. All we can do on here is guess. And, as someone said recently, you will end up with a long list of possibilities which will be of no value to you at all. Sorry, but my advice is to get to a Vet as quickly as you can. The last thing you want is to have more birds going down with something nasty. If you act quickly you could save yourself a lot of serious trouble later. If it turns out that this is just a weak bird, you must ask yourself if it is worth keeping. It would be very cruel to keep a weakling and subject it to training later when it could not possibly cope. It would be better to get shot of it now than have it lost and starving on the side of a road somewhere in the future.
