Skull Lofts Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Hi all I have a problem. Its about a week before my youngsters should be weened from the breeding section and yesterday i noticed that not all is well. Some of the youngsters are limping and 2 are sitting puffed up. All the youngsters are on the ground and they are being fed by whichever cock gets to them first. I suspect salmonella (Parathyphoid), as two of the cocks even limps. Is it safe to give Medpets 4 in 1 in the drinker? Thanks Skull
jimmy white Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 hi skull.. as far as im aware your in south africa,, i say this to let our fellow members know that your breeding time will be different than the uk, i note you suspect salmonella/paratyphoid, it sounds possible, but only a good avian vet will diagnose this,, well worth getting them tested,,, im wondering if you had a full hatch?? or any "dead in the shell" as this" dead in the shell" can be attributed to paratyphoid/salmonella ,, i say "can be" but the best advice i could give you is get them tested asap,,,, good luck
just ask me Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 sound advice jimmy i hope its not paratyphoid maybe a calcium deficiency just a tought if u have had eggs not hatching more than likely paratyphoid
Guest bakes Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 totally agree the same as jimmy if in dowt get them tested mate.
