Will a Vaccinated Pigeon effect others ?

Will a Vaccinated Pigeon effect others Pigeons that have not recieved the

same Vaccine ?

 

Someone was selling me a pair of birds but refused too,he asked me if my

birds had any shots. I told them they were only dewormed,he ws afraid his

birds could of effected all of mine. I am a bit upset, I do not think it would

have any effect on my birds. I am going to try to buy some today.I live in

Connecticut ,I need to find a new breeder so I can buy some,its hard to come

across breeders in Connecticut.

           If your talking about the Paramyxovirus vaccination it states 'avoid contact with birds from other lofts for at least 14 days'.

Hi Jason, puzzled as to what the breeder is meaning??

 

If the breeder is selling birds to you, then once purchased and in your loft, he has no further control or influence over them, nor can they have any influence on his other birds...

 

Also as a precaution [good hygeine] always isolate new introductions from your own birds for a week or so. If you practice that, don't see how new introductions can affect your own birds, or vice versa.

Depends on the vaccination if it is a dead vaccine then no. Treated birds will not affect untreated ones becouse there is no living organism to transmit

IF it is a live vaccine then it is possible but very unlikely

although I have heard that poultry vaccinated for marek's disease are then able to infect unvaccinated poultry Marek's remains in the system for life

where as paramyxovirus does not  -not sure re pigeon pox but I believe it is a live vaccine?
