mark Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 there you go stb natural pruducts and problem solved or do you think hes telling lies keep YB racing simple its the future you want them for not just this season.
Guest Owen Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 What's this about bad management? Right then how about you Smart Ar--- telling us how to do it. There's a challenge for you. And I would be willing to bet, before you say anything, that you will not take the challenge. And if you think elder berries and things like that are cures, I will know you really are bonkers. I have had a stray here for the last couple of days. It looks awful. It obviously is not well, and as a pigeon, it is a terrible specimen. Someone allowed that thing to live and then allowed it to become a flying disease pot to spread goodness knows what to everyone else. And regarding the practice of feeding birds before they are entered into a race. Surely everyone knows what happens to the food you gave them. It is spewed out for all the birds to eat. Birds with YBS are worse because they spew up infected food. And they have had more to start with. Feeding pigeons, especially young pigeons, before they go into the race basket is the best way to spread infection far and wide. So why do it? Your pigeons do not benefit by it, they just throw it up.
The Navigator Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 keep YB racing simple its the future you want them for not just this season. Well said that man.

holmsidelofts Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I totally agree with Owen. Fanciers who send there birds racing with food in them are one of the main spreaders of disease in our sport. the is no need for birds to be put in the basket with corn in them. I feed my birds on a friday but i do it early enough so they dont have food in there crop when i take them to the basketing station. I've put birds through at basketing stations and they had that much corn in them they couldnt hardly stand up, As soon as they were on the move in the transporter they would have thrown it all up and every bird in that basket would have eaten some of it and would have picked up loads of germs. The federation needs to outlaw birds with corn in them, every club should have an appointed person to say if a bird should go through or not. This is the way its done in Australia and we need to adopt this method.

Guest Owen Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I am still wondering when I will be enlightened on how to manage my pigeons by the Know-Alls who like to preach to the rest of us. As I suspected, they are all pi-- and wind. It would be in all our best interests if the Clubs took up the holmeside lofts suggestion. Someone should be appointed to check the birds before they are allowed to go into the race basket. Any that look ill or have food in them should be turned back. This problem is one that affects us all. No one Fancier should be allowed to adversley affect the majority.

Guest stb Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 YEAH i use natural products for colds and flu plenty vitamin c and some herbal YOU GOT ANYTHING THERE FOR RHUMATOID ARTHRITIS THEN. NA WELL p*ss OFF
Guest Owen Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 HighSpeedLofts. If I had my way, I would make it an offence to feed birds before basketing them for a race. The people who do that sort of thing must be aware that their birds will spew it up. So they know it is antisocial to do it. You are right, we can'nt stop people feeding their birds. But we should have the right to stop those same people from causing our birds to be infected by their dirty and selfish attitudes. Unfortunately, there are too many people like you, who think they can do just what you like, regardless of the effect you are having on others. I find your attitude just short of bullying. "I'll do what I like and sod the rest of you". Sad.
