Ulsterman Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 just wondering what essentials i'll be needing this coming season, just to have it to hand if and when needed. ive read so many threads on here about this that and the other illness with just as many cures its hard to know what essentials to have in.
adam owen Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 a product for yb sickness is a must but if you get it a second time use something differant

Guest bigbok Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 not a lot really some insecticide and coci tablets and loads of probiotics seems to do the trick
hazz2000 Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 linco-spectin 100, ronidozole 10%, moxidectine, and apralan ;)
adam owen Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 hazzz2000 what is apralan used for
Guest strapper Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 hazzz2000 what is apralan used for adam ..its used for bateria ,salmonela etc....was sold in sachets...dunno if its sold in tubs.
Guest strapper Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 i have 3 treatments for canker, two for resp,2 wormers, and 2 for bacteria infections reason for different items for each, is so if i get a problem more than once it wont be treated by the same product twice in a row. depending how long the shelf life is depends on how many items for each i have. there is a very important other that you must have....common sense! some may say why have so many different for each ..well what i reply is this.....why have so many channels on your tv?...because its there if and when you need them! two i would recommend...doxy t...resp. rhonidisole....canker..two strengths...5 and 10
stantheman Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 canker treatment, resp treatment, purple spray for cuts open wounds etc or wound powder good quality probiotic as mentioned vary the products used
Guest Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 needle and cotton ,box of matches ,fabric sticking plasters ,plus the usual treatments . andy.
Graham Kelly Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 A big bucket for any individual weaklings who get sick when the rest of the flock is healthy....... Will treat in the following order before pairing: Salmonella - Baytril 12 days Vaccinate Worms - Ivormectin 1 day Cocci - Baycox 2 days Treat birds for canker while sitting eggs with Emtryl. For the rest of the season I will only have Rondizonole 10% for Canker and Tylan for respiratory treatments if needed. No fancy vitamins, probiotics, etc used. Small amounts of mixed grit given fresh every day. SMA gold baby powder on corn and honey in water on return from race. Fresh Blended Garlic on corn & Cider Vinegar in water Sunday to Tuesday. Sedocol in water on Wednesday. Thats the plan I am trying to stick to this year.
Ulsterman Posted December 31, 2009 Author Report Posted December 31, 2009 thanks for ur replies everyone, a lot to think about there though some of those treatments are like hens teeth, moxidectine, doxy t for example. ive looked it up before and couldnt find where to get it anywhere. but other stuff i'll get in just to be on the safe side. thanks again.
