I FOUND ONE OF MY PIGEONS DEAD TODAY FOR NO REASON A BLOODY HEALTY 08 COCK BIRD NOTHING WRONG WITH HIM

I SAW HIM FEEDING ABOUT 10-15 MINS BEFORE

THEN GOT MY CUP OF TEA THEN BACK OUT AND HE WAS ON THE FLOOR IN THE AVERY DEAD

WHY DOE STHIS HAPPEN

MOST ANIMALS ARE GOOD AT HIDING ANY SIGNS OF ILLNESS, ELSE THEY WILL BE SPOTTED AS WEAK AND BECOME PREY. YOU CANT TELL THERE WAS NO UNDERLYING ILLNESS UNLESS YOU HAVE AN AUTOPSY  :-/ KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THE REST OF YOUR BIRDS FOR THE NEXT WEEK OR 2.

yes mate birds do have heart attacks what i have found in my experience is that sprint birds will die or go unfertile quicker than distance birds i think this is because they mature alot quicker than the distance birds , would be intrested in what other people think and have found out as this is just my imo

I once met this ,i caught a pair of youngster from my uncle,he was alright and heathy body,everything is ok.the next day i saw him was good .after feeding my birds,i wanted to catch him ,all of sundden he fell down and died.i observed its droppings was ok,i couldn't find there was angthing wrong.

i had one like that she died a few minutes after laying.vet told me it was probably caused by shock as she was a young hen but i,m not sure as the vet did not actually inspect the bird.

what makes me wonder is that if he was ill his babys would be too wont they and they are growing well and nice and fat i know you lot were saying they hide it but you can tell on babys

if the bird was eating ok 15 mins before it died tells me it cant have been ailing much mate as a poorly bird would have gone of its food, as i said probably a heart attack, had a stock bird 4 years ago content sitting on eggs, went back in with feed 10 mins later and was dead

I ad a White pied best tame bird I ad looked In on him next he dead on floor best ever bird I ad like a freind to me shock when it happens

had a cock feeding ybs 3 year old just drop dead , was a sprinter and that was by heart attack he was bouncing day before went in and was dead , it happens
