PIGEON_MAN Posted October 7, 2005 Author Report Posted October 7, 2005 CHEERS ROSE AND PECKEDHEN FOR FURTHER PIECES OF INFORMATION THE WEB SITE WAS A USEFULL BIT OF INFO BUT LIKE A LOT OF THINGS I,M READING IT SEEMS THAT OTHER PEOPLES SIMULAR PROBLEMS HAPPEN THERE AND THEN WHERE AS MY HEN AS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR OVER 12 MONTHS NOT GETTER ANY WORSE OR ANY BETTER,I THINK I WILL SEND OFF SOME DROPPINGS TO HAVE TESTED AND SEE IF THAT COMES UP WITH ANYTHING.
Guest Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 With due respect to the other posts, I would phone Lizzy Rigby for advice first, Pigeon_man before sending off droppings anywhere. The test which determines if the bird's body systems are out of synch is a blood test. A sample of blood is taken and the blood chemistry analysed for levels of proteins, vitamin, hormones, enzymes, etc. And the vet doesn't usually do it 'in-house' - they send it on to a specialist lab. Its not cheap. Had an unusual one September 2004 which required a 'sample' to go to the lab for analysis. £30 for that work + vet fees + medication. Around £70.
