Guest Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 I can remember reading in one of the topics, about uising baby milk powder, while the birds are rearing, so Ive got some to try out. At the moment im mixing 2 small scoops in to the water, does anyone know if this is too much or not enough etc.
jimmy white Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 i think your doing the right thing sbelbin, i put two table spoons in , but maybe a bit much, but it does make a differance to the youngsters, only my opinion
Guest Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 Cheers Jimmy, its definately making them grow faster, I had to put the rings on at 5 days old and even then struggled a bit. My first 2 Van-Whites hatched out last night, so ive floated them under a pair in the race loft. Cheers Ste

Guest Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 First heard about its use on the forum. Wondered how and when you first cottoned-on to Baby powder? What was 'the bit' that attracted you to use it?

jimmy white Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 thats the same one i used rodders sma , i dont know if it would make any differance on the food or in the water, i only use it when birds are feeding young, do you mix anything along with it to stick to the corn , ie wheatgerm oil or c. l. o . ?and what do you think of it , ive allways found it good
Guest speckled Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D"BITTY" if ya going to use it in the water its best to wait till the birds are fully cropped, then put the water down so that way thay will get the full benifit of the nice freash mixture.just a thougth comming from "HEN" speck,

Wiley Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 something i was thinking of giving a try this year, but will defaintly do it now with the amount of ppl saying they do it and are happy with the results,a fanciers whos does it regularly through the young bird season who i often go and visit his young birds defaintly look top nick and they topped the federation twice this year so maybe there might be something init
rockinrick Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 i tried it on this seasons ybs in the drinkers and used corn oil when mixing with corn , ybs are fit and strong ;D ;D
Alf_Rothwell Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I am sure Vic Taylor of Sherfin corn used it on the PEANUT POWER he sold over 30 years ago. I hace also heard of people using it but had trouble regarding it going sour. It must be good stuff if fed at the right time. I can also remember Fred Parkinson of Ushaw Moor giving his birds Goats Milk in the drinker. Don't ask me what kind of goat as it was over 40 years ago. I definately know it was not called Billy.

Guest Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I don't just use it for the first 30 days after weaning
MsPigeon Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I tryed it last year in the water, found that it was an awful waste in the breeding loft as we have individual pens and it needs to be kept fresh. Maybe on the feed is better. But like Linda, I found that it was the most benefit at weaning in the YB loft drinker. Carol
