bewted Posted April 21, 2008 Author Report Posted April 21, 2008 I know of one supplier charging £9.50 for 25kg of barley. I have looked for somewhere to buy a ton of corn from thinking it might as it used to save me a good few quid but the merchants dont want to knock enough off it. Luckily for me i found good quality barley for £4.50 a bag and i will use that all winter this year your very lucky to get barley for that price mate !!!
timbarra Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 the corn i use is £15.35 a sack of 18 kg , but i only feed the best and wont change, but it is crazy as its going up every week nearly, but hey its life oh happy days !!!!

The dearest is not allways the best, and after reading most of Chris Gordans writings where he says he feeds nearly all barley and clocks them from the distances he does it certaimly makes you think if we are wasting our money on such high priced feed.

Guest IB Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Bought my feeding for 2008 in last year before the big hikes. Had to go and get another couple of bags of Breeders in March. Think it was £8 a 20kg bag Sep / Oct 07 - was £12 a 20kg bag in March. Watch out for similar food price rises in the Supermarkets. Its grain for biofuel that's being blamed for pushing prices sky-high. Bit on TV last week about a new plant in NE England which will be processing local grown wheat into an additive for fuel.
