mark proctor Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 so basicaly you work from 4 pm to between 2 am - 4 am , im sure you could fit feeding twice a day into that time scale , wifes and girlfriends are also handy , but if wishing to feed once a day id stay clear of feeding a mix thats heavy with maize and safflower , until later on in the week gone on son..show um the way home... ;D ;D ;D
Delboy Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 You have all missed the crucial point here.Digestion of feeding has to be right. When birds are fed small amounts regularly, there is less stress on their digestive systems. When you feed once a day, the birds will eat their quota for a full day, which is not good , because they are sitting with a full crop. This takes its toll on its digestive system. When breeding, birds should be fed as many times as possible, because they feed their young every time you feed them. When racing, twice a day leading up to 4 or 5 times as the distance increases. It is alright to feed once a day if you are feeding enough to last them more than 24 hours.( what I mean is that there is food in front of them at all times )

Guest surfer Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 I think you can do what suits, the birds will adapt to whatever,it suits me to feed three times a day from march through to the end of the moult . From then on I only feed once a day. Surfer.
