A good point is to dip their beak in the drinker for a few seconds to teach them where to find water.

;)try dipping beak in fountain for much needed water ,as for food only give it big grains ,eg beans or peas ,itll eat em when hungry and better for it by far .                   andy.

should be well old enough to eat and drink,, maples seem to be the  easiest for them to pick , at that age , if they have a crop full of maples , a beak dip in the water , should make them drink ok
