I think people are missing the point I am trying to make. It's not about who is better than the other. I can only speak for the courier company I have used regularly, and don't, like so many, knock the performance of the other companies, never have. Past comments, by me have been about the attitude of an individual who runs another company, and that person is well aware of that, and knows what I am saying is correct, by his own admissions to me.

My point has always been, WHY knock the performance of the courier companies who go out of their way to do their best for each and every one of us. We can all take so much, and the point comes where we all say enough is enough and pull the plug. Do we want that to happen, from the couriers who we need as much as they need us, the simple answer is NO.

Food for thought!!

No good shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted. To late then. Give them encouragement, NOT constantly knocking them and giving bad press just to score Brownie points. Nothing to be gained by that, apart from having to deliver/collect birds we have sold/purchased ourselves when the couriers have decided enough is enough. We ought to think ourselves fortunate, that we have these small companies, doing their best to get us out of the mess that a 'mega' company (Amtrak) left us in when they went bust.

Did you ever try phoning Amtrak out of office hours (8am to 5.30pm) I reckon you may have been waiting a long time for them to answer phone mate. And they didn't work all weekend. Some people are taking advantage of the Couriers available to us all now, without giving a thought for the hours they work to try and meet the demands that some people are putting on them. If these couriers had the same selfish attitude as some on here, we would all be up the creak without a paddle. They are entitled to quality time the same as you are. We all need these couriers as much as they need us, Don't forget that.

You are right on that one, as don't forget that debbie and wayne have a life too (albeit very hectic at the moment), but, maybe when debbie or wayne comes back on the site they can state what hours are best for phoning them, then maybe they can get a bit of piece too.

Well Bob as I read that it seems you are entitled to criticise a courier you're not happy about...... but how dare anyone else complain.

I think in truth these past few months have been testing times for everyone including myself by putting my passion into trying to get a courier company up and running, it means I have to understand that I need to read how people read my posts etc as often things can get read the wrong way.  Hope that makes sense?

Let's assume just one thing guys, both couriers and fanciers alike are going to have to work together regardless of personality conflicts, if we work based on this premise we might just get through this first year without Amtrak, the next will get easier.

Merry Xmas everyone.    :)

Had Flyin Couriers collect birds from me yesterday and they delivered them to Hartlepool today and have to say I'm delighted with the service they gave me, kept up to date at all times :) :). Had a good chat with Wayne when he arrived here yesterday and was impressed with his attitude, he seems to be very comitted to providing us fanciers an excellent service. We all have to have a bit of patience and give them a chance, they are trying hard to meet our needs which must be very difficult.

Thanks again Flyin Couriers, keep up the good work. ;)

Cheers

HAS ANY ONE ELSE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THRUE TO FLYIN COUTIERS BEEN TRYING FOR THREE DAYS CONSTANTLY NO ANSWER ON ALL THREE PHONE NUMBERS GOT QUITE A LOT OF PIGEONS TO GET

Yes, we were asked by john Capper from Merseyside amongst others if we could find someone because we've closed for xmas.  With all the rave reviews of Flying Couriers I thought I'd pass the work on to them but could not get through on any of the numbers.  Got a line test by BT just in case but nothing wrong there.  :-/

If I'd honestly known there was so much work at this late time of the year and so many people likely to be let down as is the case (not just with flying couriers) I would have kept some vans on the road to help out.  Unfortunately I've advised our clients that we've closed for the xmas period which seems to have spread to non customers fast, combine this with the fact other couriers have packed in or gone bust I'm guessing that this may have led to more work being put FC's way than they, or anyone else can realistically cope with.

At the moment I think they are victims of their own success, through word of mouth and deed fanciers have realised that this is a service provided by committed and caring people. They now seem to be leading the courier market. The last thing they want to do is turn away business.

It can be worrying when your waiting for that cracking bird however I personally am happy to do that because they are nice people and always want to do their beat and help. October to March is the peak period for birds, old bird sales, then YB, come April they should be in a position too look back and evaluate, come this time next year they will have the experience under their belt and will be providing an even better service.

Yes a good honest couple and I wish them every success in their efforts to keep everyone happy through their sheer dedication, I am sure they will sort out any blips minor or major and get back on track. :)
