Guest blythy1 Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Flyin Couriers have the same boxes and I believe were the first to have them, I have sorted the drinker problem for them :X :X :X :X :X http://www.pigeoncourier.co.uk/ were the first to use these boxes. he bought the cutting tool for the hole which the drinker sits on, because there were no boxes like this. here are pics of the "original" boxes. i cant show you it with a drinker on because i havent got any at hand.

I have seen the boxes and inside of Brians van - The system is in place for the birds to get a drink without fear of the box getting wet at any time and i think Blythy is right with being the first as i had some boxes from Pigeon courier the week after amtrack went belly up.

It seems like everyone has them now :-/

Actually he wasn't the first to use this method as Brian is aware from our numerous chats, but this doesn't take away from the fact Brian is a great lad and true fancier and one we for one will be working with through the new season. The fact he took the time to make his own cut out showed that he's put some thought into the care of the birds which is what couriers should be doing. Just for the record the concept is patent pending for the feeding flap to be encorperated within the manufacturing process which is something no-one else had done, this doesn't mean people can't cut out the side of the box though which is always an option. People need to remember the boxes are in truth supposed to be disposable and should only be used once anyway so even if the boxes did get wet when offering the birds the chance to dip or feed it wouldn't hurt. In a nutshell it matters little who done what first, what has come out of this is that couriers, or at least some of them have gone that extra yard to look after the birds during transit which is something the Amtraks of the world never dreamt of doing. Here's looking forward to squeaker season.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 so if he never was first to use this idea who was cos that would be intresting to know????
