Guest G.Drysdale + son Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 yep, if you are the buyer And does the buyer get in touch with courier for collection or is that the seller?
Guest bigda Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 between the both of you"s, the seller once he has his money normally he get the postage or the courier money, he phones you to say the birds will be with you in a day or two, he gives you the company's name and phone number, you then can phone them to get a idea as to when they will be there, some times reception goes down for a bit but if you phone again you will get through, there are other cases when you pay for the birds if you did not send down extra cash, for the delivery in that case you pay cash when you get the bird, hope that help you mate :o

JM Couriers Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 got my hen today That would be the 12th one you left in the basket then, after taking 11 out and then ringing mike to ask to check his load when he was halfway back into England to see if there was any chance he could bring it back. He said no because of the other collections and deliveries that he had to do in England and that we would get our neighbour to look after it until our next run, which would have been 2 weeks later, had we not been out delivering for a week solid (home only for 1 day that week, mainly to collect your bird) and then knocking on the neighbours door to get your hen at 7am, only to find they had gone on holiday the day before and their son didnt know which bird it was Typical. So it had to be left for another 2 weeks. Still, at least you have her now Julia
JM Couriers Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 it was ment to be here last thursday 26th.and didnt arrive and i had to phone them and never got an answer till 3 days later.i dont mind if there late or held up these things happen.but a phone call to explain would be nice,as i work long hours a need to arrange for someone to be here if i am off to work :-/ What calendar are you looking at Chris? The 2nd Thursday/Fri in the month of Feb was the 19th and 20th. I should know, because the 20th was my Birthday and i spent it in and around Glasgow/Edinburgh delivering pigeons amongst other things, while Mike went on up as far as Inverness and Portnockie. The weather was sunny, the scenery wonderful and as a treat to customers i even knocked a fiver off the delivery charge, it being my Birthday. One chap who was having pigeons replaced free of charge as he lost a number to a predator, i ripped the cheque up that he gave me and said the least i could do if they were being given free of charge, was to courier them free of charge too. And Chris, I cant be answering the telephone and out delivering. I rely on Lauren and Hazel to pass on messages that need attention. As you had a text explaining the situation with the neighbour being on holiday etc and were told that the bird would be collected on the next trip, that being the 5th March, i didnt feel it was necessary to telephone you as well. Where you got the 26th from as a delivery date, i have no idea because we cover the South on alternate Thursdays :-/ Julia
joe61 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 We have used JM Couriers a couple of times and they are really good honest working people, very decent and do their best to please their customer base, I have not had one thing i could say was wrong with their service, they are a totally proffesional courier and charges are kept to a reasonable price. I remember amtrak, and i used these for 20 years never, and i mean never having been let down by them, but J & M Couriers I believe are better !!!! I take my hat off to these lovely people who do their best to give us a service, and I think they do more than that. I will use them as long as i have birds to ship out or get collected. The sport should be grateful it has a service that cares so much about you the fancier !!! J & M Couriers keep it going guys great work, none better !!! Spencer Jackson of Welling says thanks for your service. oh happy days
ritchie1 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 i agree joe 61 if all the couriers were as good as J AND M COURIERS pleasure to deal with and good price to pay for there service i also keep canaries 2 year ago i had to pay for a couriers to take birds up from ENGLAND to NE SCOTLAND cost me 92 pounds for carriage so lets hope J AND M COURIERS get a lot of business and keep going
