Guest Paulo Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 the hongerlouts were bought by alec shoulder direct from belgium alec sold off most of the birds and resigned from his club because his wife had cancer and he had to looking aftewr his wife 24hrs a day, sadly she died and he is starting again this year i believe he has bought some of the birds back from people who purchaced them.they were mostly blues and cheqs, they won pure and crossed for alec, known alec for years lives about 4 miles from me. Alec Showler was a decent flyer in the WDA. He's won the YB National and topped the Amal a few times. Flown for years with his brother as well as on his own. As for the Hongerloots he did buy them direct from Marc Hoongleloot in belgium along with Ray Pearson of Ushaw Moor. They seem to throw out quite a few white ones. Supposed to be able to win any distance like the old busschaert blood. I've heard of a few lads winning with them from Washington and Ray and Alec swear by them. I've had some breed for nowt out of Rays that he swaps with Alec etc and they have done nowt for me but that could be due to my management or the fact that the sprint pigeons I have in my loft show the hoongeloots up due to their speed. Alec had an entire clearance a few years ago due to the death of his wife from cancer. JP McGough of Lanchester handled the sale. Think Alec must have brought a few back though as he has recently started flying again in the Marquis of Granby club with his brother. Suppose its like everything you pay your money and take your chance. Alec's a nice man and a small team fancier so you could do worse than buy from him. I've been given another white one off Ray this year off the Belgium orginal imports in his stock loft who are ancient now. Only thing is its a bit young to race.
