just ask me Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 can sombody explain the floating of eggs and why its done if u have a pairing that throwing good birds u could put there eggs under another pair to rear the young allowing the good pair to go on the second round earlier than normal u can get more youngsters off this pair to race
dwh Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 can sombody explain the floating of eggs and why its done its switching eggs from under your prefered breeder to a pair of feeders that have laid roundabout same time so u can get the nxt round off prefered pair quicker
Guest Freebird Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 if u have a pairing that throwing good birds u could put there eggs under another pair allowing u to get more youngsters off this pair to race Just to add for the novices, they have to be within a couple of days of each other unless of course you have collected NEWLY LAID eggs and stored.
pjc Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 have a section with 8 boxes in and keep your bull cock seperate, allow the cocks to pair through the bars and not run with the hens, twice a day let the bull in with each hen for long enough to tread her then shut her back in her box and move the bull to the next box. While the bull is with the hens remove the feeder cock. At 5 days put bowls and nest material in for the hens, when the hens lay there 2nd eggs let the feeder cocks into the hens and they will sit the eggs and you can pair the bull cock up to another hen if you wish. If all goes to plan you could have 16 yb's in one round from your bull!
