Guest numpty01 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 we are all watching him carefully with stop watch
Rhian Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 PIGEON UPDATE.... While my husband watched and laughed at me through the window (he likes birds less than me), armed with a towel (don't know why!!) and a box I've captured the pigeon. No one mentioned how fast they can run!!! It cooed quite a bit and flapped it's good wing, but I think it's settled. I've given it some water in a deep dish, and have learnt more about pigeons in the last few hours than in my 33 years of life. I'll keep the bird tonite, and Tenny has kindly agreed to pick it up tomorrow morning. Thank you everyone for your help and advice.
thunderboult Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 well done rhian, now when you getting your loft?
Tenny Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 THE BIRD HAS NOW BEEN COLLECTED AND DELIVERED BACK TO THE OWNER BY 8AM THIS MORNING. THE PIGEON WAS WINGSTAMPED AND BELONGED TO A FANCIER LIVING LOCAL BUT WAS INJURED BY A HAWK ON ITS LEFT WING. THANKS TO RHIAN FOR BEING UP EARLY FOR ME THIS MORNING . I WILL THANK HER PERSONALLY LATER AND ADVISE THE BIRD IS SAFELY BACK HOME! Tenny

Guest Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 THATS GOT TO B A JOKE PROBALLY THE HARDEST PLACE TO FLY A PIGEON TO :) From Lerwick yes but not south
kev01293 Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 well done to rhian and tenny for both putting in the effort and making sure the bird was looked after and re-united with its owner kev
Tenny Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 The pigeon was bred by John Sparey from Newport and was one of three he gave Dai Evans to try out in 2009 YB season. Lets hope the bird makes a full recovery and goes on to score for him.
