OliverG Posted July 19, 2009 Report Posted July 19, 2009 This bird flew into my bedroom on Weds been feeding and watering it but doesnt seem to want to move on its been coming back eachday ether sitting on the roof or coming in through the window, it seems healthy enough so today i have caught it and put it in a pet carrier, cant see a phone number on the wings. I am not a keeper and will report it via the http://www.rpra.org but if the owner is on here its waiting for you
Leroy Posted July 19, 2009 Report Posted July 19, 2009 Thanks for taking the time to catch this bird and reunite it with it's owner. If the owner isn't on here, there might be someone who is that lives near you and can collect it. keep checking back. Lee
OliverG Posted July 20, 2009 Author Report Posted July 20, 2009 No contact made yet, found a number on the on Rpra ring list called but just voice mail, left one yesturday, had nothing back direct from the Rpra reporting site yet though If nobody claims him/her anyone fancy giving it a home?, it seems a nice bird, shame to just let it go wild.

OliverG Posted July 21, 2009 Author Report Posted July 21, 2009 Yeah spoke to the RPRA today they say they have sent a letter to the owner, I tried to call again but still just voicemail, not sure how long to keep hold of the bird for maybe the guy isnt there anymore, its only 20ish away miles from where its registred (whitworth in Rochdale) and has got lost mid race as it has a black band on the other leg. Tempted to go up on a hill in the direction of rochdale and just set it free, isnt the owner likely to just kill it anyway if I gave it him back.

Would doubt the owner would kill the bird mate, im sure they would be glad to see the bird again and yo kmnow of where it has been. Did thr r.p.r.a not give you a phone number for the owner? did you tell them you dont keep pigeons, and had no where to house the bird? they should contact owner straight away, Is there anyone near you that you have seen pigeons at? thanks for being so helpful, im sure the bird and owner would appreciate, by the way, if the bird can fly and appears healthy i.e not to thin, it should make its way home if you take it away from your house, if it comes back you will have to get a shed, and we can sort you out with a few more to go with it :-) :-)

OliverG Posted July 23, 2009 Author Report Posted July 23, 2009 Spoke to the club chairman today, says the bird was his and had a few young off it before he gave it a mate who wanted a few birds, says he thinks its escaped but cant get hold of the guy who owned it at the moment, anyway he's picking it up Saturday morning. I asked has it not got lost Mid race then as its got a black band on it aswell said didnt think so that was probs just a marker onit, was hoping to know a little more about it but well there you go.
